I am nearly up-to-date: stalking week!

Hello,

Outstanding events - #10 (24th to 30th November):

Monday 24th: the Evolution lectures were particularly interesting that day, when we were talking about speciation. I am really into that topic, even more that I am already always into Evolution, because that’s what pushed me towards Biology back at the time of my Australian exchange :)
In Lab we analysed some onion cells that had been treated with different solutions (previously made by us), like Sodium Chloride and Glucose. We had to observe which solutions plasmolysed the cell, to understand the components of a cell membrane and what compounds could cross it without provoking any damage. We were all very surprised at how interesting onion cells can be: they look like little pinkish bricks! Moreover, they are really good to observe and you can see changes occurring pretty much under our eyes :)
I went to dinner at Maria Stella’s place and we did some karaoke! Then I went back home and spent the rest of my night looking up videos and information about Willevannah (Willemijn Verkaik + Savannah Stevenson) and Savannah in general :P
Of course that night we had to have another woooonderful adventure... at 2.30am, fire alarm #2 went off -.-“ So we had to go out and spend about 15 minutes in the freezing cold! I hate these alarms...

Tuesday 25th: in the morning I studied for the Cell Biology test in would have on the Thursday. I had sooo much to revise, so I had to try as hard as I could to keep concentrating. Sometime I ddid get distracted though and... I tweeted Licia Troisi (my favourite writer) and she tweeted me back *-*

The evening was a lovely and funny one :) Isabela, Melanie and I had dinner all together with pasta (there was a lot of pasta...) and we chatted a lot the kitchen and we were laughing. I don’t know how but we ended up in my room and were laughing so hard about Melanie playing with my Disney princesses (action figures). I sort of got locked out of my room and I locked myself in Isabela’s, with her being so confused about what was happening. Not that I knew much more, but at least I was in a room!

Eventually, we all moved to Isabela’s room and we had a “Frozen” night, since Melanie hadn’t seen the whole movie yet! It was too funny, because she was always on the edge, trying to understand who would die or who would end up with who LOL And, well, there’s also the fact that I love “Frozen”... so I was very happy :) When the movie finished, Melanie went back to her room and I stayed over for a sleepover. However we went on talking forever (guess what? There was some more Willevannah involved!), until... until at 2.15am the fire alarm went off once again! The thing was starting to get very annoying o.O

Wednesday 26th: I studied a bit during the day and then a lot in the evening... I went to the Common Room under France House until about midnight, then Maria Stella Skyped me and I lost all my concentration... so it was time to go back upstairs and sleep! Though, I didn’t end up sleeping in my room, but I had another sleepover in Isabela’s room, after chatting also with Melanie and waiting awake to see if the alarm was going to go off :P

Thursday 27th: in the morning I didn’t go to my Molecular Biology lecture to have some more time to revise for the afternoon test, like pretty much half the class!  In the afternoon, I had the test and... it wasn’t bad at all! I didn’t know my results straight away, but now I do: I got 81% *_* That’s a very strong A and I am sooo happy that studying paid off :)

While Isabela went to see Les Miserables, I spent the evening watching “Glee” and blogging for a while :) When she came back, we stalked a standby actress from Les Mis: she absolutely loved this girl playing Éponine, but she didn’t know the name, because she wasn’t the main Éponine. We eventually found her: Carolina Gregory, an Italian girl who moved to London years ago.

Friday 28th: my Cell Biology was particularly boring, because Hermine was doing it and she was going very slowly... then I spent the rest of the morning doing assignments with Andrea, before going to the SBCS Ambassador training. It was a very interesting hour, during which we were given information about Open Days and what we would have to tell the students: the important thing is to never lie. We are meant to convince the students to come to Queen Mary, but without lying, just telling them our own experience. There were about 25 people at the training and I chatted with some, like Ellie (who is doing Biology with me) and Joelie (Psychology) :)

Later on I Skyped Giorgia and then I had to rush to the Queen Mary gate to meet the people from the Photography Society. I went with them to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum! The building was gorgeous and the exhibition itself was as well *-* There were some incredible photos and also very few that didn’t particularly strike me, but in general I had a great time!! I spent the whole evening with a 3rd year Zoology student, Fenn, that I met at the gate :) She is really nice to talk to and she also told me a few things about my future lecturers and courses!

When I came back I had dinner with Melanie and Isabela and some chats also with Tommaso, then I chatted with Isabela until very late night (or early morning?). The funniest thing was that, around midnight, Tommaso knocked on both our doors until he found us both in Isabela's room... and he stayed with us for almost an hour, chatting and laughing because he was drunk LOL It was hilarious!!! I tried to take a couple of videos of him, but he usually noticed, so there's very little fun stuff taped :(
Anyway, when I went back to my room, I read “Brighid’s quest” until 4am!
Saturday 29th: because I had gone to sleep so late, I woke up at midnight, then I went to Startford. I bought Christmas cards and wrapping paper and then I started looking for Christmas presents! I bought some lovely souvenir mugs for my Italian friends... but a lady bumped into me on the street and I dropped them... crashing all of them >.< I was on the verge of tears, but I really didn’t want to cry in the middle of a shopping centre! I went back to buy other mugs... I was so upset!

In the evening there was some more stalking: Carolina Gregory, Carrie Hope Fletcher and Savannah (yes, it was a stalking week) :) When Melanie arrived, the three girls in the flat went to Isabela’s room for another movie night. This time we couldn’t be bothered setting up the double bed, so we brought in my soft carpet and laid there! The movie we chose was “Gattaca” and I was really into it... but we didn’t finish it, because we started having some very weird late-night conversation that I am not going to rewrite here!

Of course the night wouldn’t end there and... Isabela and I decided to have another sleepover *_* I love sleepovers, if you hadn’t noticed! However, we were very lazy, so we didn’t set up the other bed... we brought in my duvet and made my carpet into a double bed :P Interesting experiences hahaha

Sunday 30th: Sunday was quite a lazy day, which only included some cleaning up and some grocery shopping in Whitechapel! I also Skyped my parents and then... it was time for my 5.15pm dinner, because Maria Stella and I were going to a concert. But that’s going to be a topic for the next post, specifically about Elisa’s concert *_*
